i have just bought a three spoke steering wheel as a upgrade replacement for the 4 spoke, airbag also, is it a simple and quick job as it looks in the manual i have? any experiences anybody?[:)]

If you have the workshop manual you are more than half way to doing this.

I have swapped mine out too;

Some observations;

Always disconnect the battery before starting work on the airbag (Remembering to turn on the ignition before disconnecting as you will set off the alarm siren), but before doing this make sure your wheels are straight.
Don't be tempted to use a Torx to undo the nut that holds on the steering wheel; The correct tool is a 12mm 12 point bit not a T-55 as some have used.
Marking the top of the 'star' may help in the fitting of the new wheel but the marks wont be on the new steering wheel.
If you re-use the bolt (Porsche recommend changing this) some Loctite Blue should be applied to the threads. The correct torque is 50 (37 ftlb.) Nm.

If you disconnected the battery you should not get an airbag warning light.

You will have to reset your windows, PSM and throttle but this is also covered in the workshop manual; if you don't have this just shout.

hi nick, wheel just been mounted as you said simple, no airbag light, if you hadn`t had said about the battery thing ( turn ignition on) i had forgot about that!!, thanks again
