Hi Steve,

We'd love to come along (husband Dave and I) on the Three Valleys drive. Is the plan to have a drive and then some lunch (do we bring along a picnic?) and then more driving. And, are you planning a convoy. Knowing me, I'll get lost even with the most detailed instructions!

Sounds a good route. Let's hope for a day like today and NO rain!

cheers,
Tracey

Hi Tracey

The intention is to have a picnic at the Stone House Hotel just north of Hawes---meet at the Little Chef north of Skipton 10:30ish--I have done a route guide with some ponts of interest--please email me at steve.humphreys@blueyonder.co.uk and I will send you what I have titled--"A View from the Road".

Hope for the sunshine and a great drive out---the route is a mixture of great driving roads and scenery.

See you there.

Steve

I have just spoken to Peter Westwood from the Stone House Hotel--Peter will arrange for the bar of the hotel to be open as well as arrange for some some drinks and light snacks to be available to participants----in the extremely unlikely event that there is anything other than sunshine we should be able to take out picnics indoors--so to speak----but forever the otimist--it will be a bright sunny day out.

Look forward to seeing you all at the Little Chef in Skipton on Sunday---if there are any problems--please contact me on my mobile---0778 939 6971--access to the mobile will be limited once in the Dales National Park as there is a restriction on mobile phone transmitters in the park.

See you all there for a great day out.

Thanks Steve for organising today's run, we had a superb day out. Must also thank the owners of Stone Cross for their hospitality [:D]

Hope the photo-shoot at the via-duct went to plan. Has anyone got any photos of the day?

yes, fabulous day, we had it all, the weather, the company, the cars, and as for the drive.....well, are there any flies left in the dales???? think not, they are all on the front of my bloody car[;)][;)][;)]

Hi Steve and Ruth,

Thanks for organising the drive on Sunday, we had a fabulous day. Had plenty of practise at trying to keep up with other Porsches! Wonderful sweeping roads, great for driving. Didn't see much of the scenery on the second stage, it all whizzed by. Pass on our thanks to the Stone House Hotel for their hospitality - those quiches were delish.

No probs on the A59 going back home, traffic must have all been on the A65.

Cheers again,
Tracey and David

Glenn, I assume from your post you got home, as you peeled off just as we were going to get on the M62.

yes dave thanks, we travelled on the a650 towards wakefield, and then joined the m1 at j41, all in all a bit shorter than the m62 route.[;)]

incidentally, im sure you saw the grey 4s in front of you on the a650. wot on earth was that all about? it doesent endear the motoring public to porsche drivers with w*****s like that on the road.[][][] i really thought he had caused an accident, when the oncoming traffic swerved to avoid him and started flashing.

however, im sure you will agree, his superior driving skills were evident to both of us......so impressive[:'(][:'(][:'(]

I saw your "w*****s" wave to him. Actually the car he was overtaking had not seen him and decided to overtake the car in front of him, pushing the C4S way over into the oncoming traffic.

He reminded me of the old person who had never had an accident but had seen plenty in his rear view mirror.

Thanks to the organisers for such a great run out - sorry we held up some of you by our late arrival from the coast - marvellous location and great hospitality from the hotel - our thanks to the owners. Saw they offer fly fishing courses - very interesting - all you needed was a pair of waders - they supply everything else.

I think I may go back to work to get a free boxster[:D][:D][:D]

Sent photos to James but had problem (used old e mail address) [;)]
am a dipstick on the computer but there isn't one on my boxster - I have been looking all over for it!

Hope to meet up with you all again soon.

Great day out

A thank you to all participants, it was a great day our--who needs Armour guard when you've got dales flies to protect the front of the car--I have attached some photos I took on the day.

Sorry about the advice re the route through Bradford--i understand the Bingley bypass was closed--it mus have bee a real pain.

Please bring your quiz answers to the BBQ in August--I will be away but i will pass the answers on for the night.
