Hi Guys,
Just thought I would place a post up about my recent experience at the East London OPC.
My car has a full OPC history which I am keen to upkeep and being as she has been serviced by East London for the past 2 years with the previous owner I thought I would keep it there, they are not to far from me ether, so all is good.
My beloved 996 turbo went in for its first major service since ive owned her last weekend, booked in 2 weeks prior and a courtesy car booked for when i arrived.
Dropped the car off on Saturday morning, thought i was getting a nice new 911 courtesy car to try out over the weekend, no such luck, instead I was greeted with a brand new Lexus 200 hybrid, not quite a 911 turbo, but still a nice car, took a while to get use to hearing no engine sound, very surreal the first time you drive it !!
As mentioned before, the car was in for a major service and transmission fluid change, when I booked the car in, I mentioned that I only wanted the transmission fluid changed, not the whole £560 transmission service, my car has only covered 58000 miles AND the full transmission service (which is at 96000 miles) wasn't required, I was told no problem, and quoted £100 for the transmission fluid change.
I was called on the Monday to say all was going well, I was advised by Neil Sutton my adviser, that as the engine was down for the spark plug change, and as the coil packs looked aged and cracked they could do with changing aswell, so I thought might as well, I also had the rear discs drilled out, I was told there was nothing else to report on the car, a very happy bunny.
Went to collect the car on Tuesday, had a look over her, and everything looked good, they had even re-aligned my rear tail lights which I didn't ask for, after a good chat with Neil Sutton my adviser we sat down to settle the bill, a quick glance and I knew something was up, my bill was about £450 larger than I anticipated, went through the long list of parts that had been used, all the belts and filters were present, everything ok, then the labour, after a quick check we found the error, they had carried out the full transmission service my car, after explaining I had been quoted £100 for a simple fluid change, I was told that couldn't be done on my car, the £100 fluid change was for a manual transmission only, the tiptronics have to have all the filter and fluids done which is why it cost £560, without any argument the fee was taken off, which I know is right, but still these days you come to think everyone is out to rip you off, so I thought that was good quality customer service, and I also know that the car has had the full monty transmission service too.
Now I know some will say that when you go to an OPC that's what you pay a premium for, but the service I received from Neil Sutton and Neil the Service Team leader (two Neils a bit confusing) was second to none, the service my car received ,from the way it is driving has been fantastic, they also replaced my Battery under the 2 year manufactures warranty without question, it only had 1 days warranty left on it, so a bit of luck there aswell, I would say the car has been totally cared and pampered for whilst its been in their care, something which I have found to be few and far between these days.
All in all a great experience from a well trusted OPC, I totally trust my beloved car with East London and will continue to use them for all my servicing needs, I had read some horror stories about East London, which is why I feel it is important to let people know about good experience I have received.
Hope this helps anyone thinking of using a East London OPC
Thanks for reading.
