Ticking/Clicking from Dash?

Intermittant and no lights come on...
Car drives fine and ticking is constant even when stopped but not all the time!

Usualy after a long trip.

Its not the mileage reading trip...

Any susgestion?

it'll be a relay in the fuse box i expect. mine ticks when i hold the doors open (there's some intermittent short in the switch on mine).

I wouldn't like to hazard a guess which relay though, as there is no lights relay to go wrong! have you checked the fuses for the lights at all?
 
I have a similar clicking, which although it sounded as if it is coming from the dash, it is actually coming from the alarm under the passenger footwell. As the car works OK to now, and as it has the additional Cat1 installed ... i've taken the decision to leave things well alone.

Try a quick clean of the switches by the door hinges that turn the interior lights on. Quite a few of us have got rid of the clickety clicks cleaning these. Both of mine clicked like demented grasshoppers [8|]
 
Clean? how do you do that? [;)] A polish once a year is all mine gets![:D]

Cheers Paul. You know it never bothered me really until this thread started. It's a good job I was doing some bodywork this week, or it'd have got ripped apart by now. Oh well, a job for tomorrow.....
