Ticking sound by driver's head 981S - easy fix!

Hi all,
Thought I'd post this as it may save somebody time and money trying to trace this fault in future.
Symptoms were a constant, pronounced tick sound from behind the driver's right ear whilst engine running.
It sounded like the noise was coming from the engine compartment and I was starting to get worried!

I then checked the off-side side air intake with a powerful torch and noticed that a leaf had got wedged into a blade of the intake fan.
Using a vacuum cleaner with long extension nozzle I was able to suck out the offending leaf and hey presto the tick has gone! [:)]
Another place to check in future besides the front intakes/rads.

Thanks Andy. It really does save others a deal of frustration by posting little 'fixes' like this.

It’s called Porsche Paranoia, many owners suffer from this... :ROFLMAO:

Andy,

I think you probably mean symbiosis.

“Cymbiosis” is the business name of an audio / Hi Fi consultancy based near Leicester.

Best regards,

Peter
