tidy engine bay

New member
I have recently purchased a 1988 Porsche 911 SC and want to tidy the engine bay and also convert it to individual throttle bodies (ITBs).
I have attached 2 pictures, one of which shows a standard interior and another that has been modified.
Can any members explain the function of the "black boxes" on the left of the engine bay and can they be safely and easily removed?
Sorry if I sound ignorant but I am very new to Porsche ownership.

Also, has anyone recently converted to ITBs?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Regards

911 1988 sc ? no such thing, 3.2 carrera i think juding by the picture and the age of the car,the black box on the left hand is a fuse box this could be moved but would involve cuting and re soldering quite a few wires

The cover just In on the left side houses the engine blower relay, the rear de mist relay, the fuses for those and the connector for the main engine harness. I must admit I've thrown all of that(except the main harness of course!!) and it does tidy things up a bit. I've toyed with the idea of itbs for a while now, done loads of research on it, but decided there are too many other things I Need to do first!! DO a search on the pelican parts forum, there is loooads of info and pictures on there..
