Time for a change

I've for the last few weeks been wondering what to do, should I change to a GT3 and do some track days, although
there is nothing wrong with the Turbo, however when we first had a 911 it was conditional of it being a Cab to get
approval from the good lady, so should it be a 991Cab, its a difficult decision as the turbo power is very addictive
and the only downside to a turbo in my opinion is its lack of noise and then I fell in love so the lovely red turbo has
gone and been replaced by the new love of my life and to complete the picture and sort the noise problem and possibly
also a few track days the daily driver has also been changed. I'm not sure in difficult times that I've not gone
completely mad ?

Blue seems popular of late- is it the new Red I wonder???? [;)]

Very nice Geoff, I saw one similar but the coupe just does it for me- although Jo does prefer the Cabriolet..
Turbo sounds amazing when the roof is down [8D]

Mmmmm,

Nice colour for the Turbo S, Geoff - very fashionable nowadays! [:)]

and it looks like the garage is going to need a bit of a clear out to accommodate the Focus too.

Congratulations and well done. Looking forward to seeing the new motor next month and hearing how it compares with the old car.

Regards,

Clive.

Lovely car, Geoff, I'll look forward to seeing it in person at some stage. Many congratulations - while I'm sure you'll miss the old car, it won't be for long!!

All the best, John

Nice one Geoff - well, nice two actually. And Caroline can't blame me this time for encouraging you to spend your money........[:D]

Congratulations on snapping up one of the last Gen2 turbo's Geoff, a beautiful car, I do recognise your car from the photo and believe it was displayed in OPC showroom just a few miles down the road from me and much admired.

Geoff
An excellant choice, absolutely gorgeous car. I was exactly in the same position about 2 yrs ago and bought a gen 2 gt3. I have to say it lacks the punch of the turbo but were i live i have about 20 miles of coastal road with straights , hairpins and all sorts of camber surfaces and this thing is unbelievable noise handling and sheer hair raising in the back of the neck. Now Ann has been saying for the last few months Turbo s Cab and again we thought 991 cab for March delivery purely because 997 turbo s cab are rare and hard to get, but really we believe 991,s are overpriced look bland and !!!!!!. I really dont want to overstep the mark here but 991 are they selling etc for eg a base carrera 2 ÂŁ92 k. Autocar mag done a comparision against 3 other cars that are about 3/6 years old and they quoted a price of ÂŁ82k for a carrera s, just go on the the car config and you will see a carrera 2s carries an additional uk mandatories of about 7/8 grand. It was not an impressive read even they said the 991 was better. Good luck and enjoy the cab
Regards

Hey Geoff, looks brilliant, the SW run is going to make a rare sight with Tom and Clive. Your insurance broker must have been grinning as well [:D]

No Tom but Nick will be there in his. 4 Turbo S, 5 turbo, 2 GT3 and a 991 - this is getting silly! [:D]

Thanks guys for the nice comments, from an insurance point of view Peter the current multi policy does not expire until end April and I've been told no increase in premium until renewal. So we will wait and see in April.
Alan, I'm afraid as you are responsible for the whole Turbo situation you are not getting away that easy, by the way I took those expensive wheel centres off before it went to OPC.
I'm looking forward to the weather getting better so I can take it out for a blast as I've only driven it back from the OPC in Colchester.
Anyway Caroline took the Focus out yesterday as it was a lot easier than her MX5 (which I had to drive) in the snow and decided it was a great car far better than being a passenger where she finds the ride very hard she didn't notice it when she was driving so I need to be careful I don't loose the that in the near future.
Roll on the better weather !

Geoff

Looks great in Ice blue metallic, can't believe that they stopped producing them in that colour considering it was there launch colour, the cab will be wonderful all year round but in those warmer days it will be absolutely fantastic. I bet that RS is pretty tasty as well all the best. Steve

Just wondering how Caroline is going to knit at 120mph with the roof down
So before Tanya sets fire to you with the cheap V power you're going to buy on Valentines Day you will also have a knitting needle protruding from each ear? Nice![:D]

The knitting will have to stop and guess I'll just have to get the wallet out, a bit like Paul !
I'm not sure it's Paul that keeps getting his wallet out though..... [;)]

That's true - but you're still not allowed to advertise your business in your "signature" (even if you are based in Canada) - forum rules -sorry dude.

Geoff

Great car, great taste in colour as well. [:-]

Great taste in OPC to source it from......[8|]

Welcome to an exclusive colour far more exclusive than red...... (watch the comments come flying back)[8D]

Your in for a surprise - once its run in, the Turbo S is much louder in the cabin than the standard turbo when your pressing on, so with the cab it should be even louder. At 12k miles on mine its pretty loud in the cabin at full tilt compared to when cruising.

As per Clive's comments - Id be keen to see what you think once you've had it and driven it a fair bit. I think its a bit of a different animal and is slightly sportier and slightly less GT-ish. But this is just degree's here rather than any fundamental character change.
