Time for me and the 944s to part

After owning my 1988 944S for five and a half years, it is time it moved on to a new owner. I can no longer justify the expense of the upkeep while doing such low mileage each year.

I have spent £8500 on it during ownership with the belts done in December and Full service last month. I don't want a massive amount of money for it as I want it to go to a good home and home whom ever buys it not chop it up.

The driver's cill will need looking at probably but otherwise I think it is ok. Paintwork is generally good and I would include the Porter Cable polisher (etc), power washer and the several hundred pounds worth of cleaners and polishes I have.

I don't want to shove it on ebay and am hoping someone on here is looking or knows someone who is.

A few details:

India Red
1988 944S (sixteen valve)
Black Half Leather with Logo Print
95 000miles
Sunroof
Sony MD player
18 inch Porsche Turbo Cup 3 wheels with Micheline Pilot Sports all round. Not much wear at all.

My direct email adress is michael.bickell@groupdyer.com for more details. I have a XL spreadsheet which states what work was done when.

No takers? £1000 even?
Tax runs out at the end of the month and I simply don't have 2 seconds of time to spend on it. MOT ran out last weekend.

I will be having it dragged off by these people at the end of the month. http://www.scrapcar.co.uk/
Its a shame, and goes well and has had a ton spent on it in the last short while but it is now bottom of the priority heap now.

SCRAPPING it?

Please don't! Keep it on the road or break it, at least.

On a serious note, I'll give you £10 for the clock AND come and take it out for you if you really are scrapping it.

Mikie,

If SimonP's PM is to buy the car then please sell it to him, don't sell me the parts!

(SimonP - you are up against someone who will give him no money at all for it .. you could be in about the best possible position for a buyer!)

Oli.

make no mistake, I would rather see it to a good home. I can't part it on the streets so it will go intact, one way or another. PM's recieved will be answered when I have two seconds. Which are scarce enough.

Well if it's as you describe and no one above me on the list goes ahead then I'll have it for the above price. I'll keep the car on the road for as long as possible as I'd rather not break it unless it's uneconomic to keep it running.
