Time to sell the Turbo S ... and the winter wheels/tyres

After 3+ years and 36,000+ miles of ownership, my Turbo S is going to have to go ... sad days! As my everyday transport, including through snow (with proper wheels and tyres) and whatever the weather may choose, a heavy increase in business miles over the next 18 months has meant the painful choice had to be made. I've really enjoyed owning this car, and it really is a Supercar you can use day in, day out with no reliability issues, even if luggage space needs to be planned beforehand! I will still be subscribing to the club as I have enjoyed the forums, and especially Richard's support and knowledge!
2 questions:
I have always understood the Turbo S power output to be 450 bhp, but my engine number starts 645, and I have a note from somewhere that this engine code is 483 bhp?
I was planning to use PistonHeads to advertise the car - any comment or other suggestion as to best website to use?
I will also be selling the winter wheels and tyres - genuine Porsche rims 8x18 front (ET52 offset) and 10x18 rear (ET40 offset) with 225/40x18 and 285/35x18 Vredestein Winter Tyres with good tread if anyone wants to stay mobile through all weather conditions!

It will be sad to lose you Ashley.

It was only the late GT2s that were 489bhp. All the Turbo S and X50 engines were 450bhp.

Pistonheads would be the first choice to advertise it, but IMO you should also put it on Autotrader. That's if Des hasn't lined you up with a buyer.

I think pistonheads is the right site ( i bought my 997 C4S off there) but you may also find a buyer on here or 911uk. Key thing is do a proper ad and put in all the stuff that people will want to know - full details of the service history, when it had the obvious things done like tyres, brakes (unless it still has the PCCBs on) that sort of stuff. Selling privately can be a pain - I ended up selling mine via 911 Vrigin - it was done as an SOR as it had a warranty but I reckon the cost to me was low - they got more for it than I would have got privately and I didn't have to deal with the tyre kickers. Good luck with the sale. The winters are a definite added selling point!

Good luck with the sale Ashley, they truly are fabulous cars.

I'd be interested to see how much it goes for, there are a couple on PH at the moment asking for strong money

regards
Ash

Des, I have sent you some photos to your business e-mail address.
