Times up for clock

My clock has died, powers there but movements stopped. Had the clock out from the dash, even tested with leads to battery but no joy.
Anyone out there had any experience with the clock? How do you get the black bezel off and is there a company who can repair them?

Your comments would be welcome.

Geoff

I think the bezel is machine crimped on, though you may be able to loosen the back edge witha a small black slotted screw driver , this way any unsightly damage will be at the back and not visible from the front when you finally re fit it. good luck

Thanks for that link Aldo, been in contact with them, appears straightforward. Will take it in personally, it's just 40mins away.

Many thanks

Geoff

Thanks Liam for your reply, as you can see, Aldo has come up with a repairer on my doorstep.
So I won't need to butcher the black bezel after all!

Thanks once again.

Geoff

Good news, just re read my post i meant small flat screw driver not a small black screw driver lol.

Not yet, the guys on holiday till the 20th September.
Said I would make contact when he got back, I'm in no rush, it's a busy month for events this month, will drop it off in October.
Will report back when repaired.

I hear now that people are fitting a clock from a Russian MIG into the dash of their 1974-1989 911's. Here's the clock they are fitting:

I havent seen one fitted though.

Hi, As a result of your info I sent my clock off to John Ostick by recorded delivery on the 22nd, it was returned today the 27th all done! Now refitted. Really good prompt service, certainly can be recommended, thank you.

Collected my repaired VDO clock today from John Ostwick. All repaired and working beautifully, and comes with a 12 month warranty. Brilliant service!

Really interesting guy, makes all his own machine tools, showed me the common fault with Porsche speedo, stripped cog, they look to be made of chocolate, no wonder they break. John machines new ones from a durable plastic. This man is very talented.
