Timng out before I can get my post typed...

I've had problems with Firefox with the forum and switched to Chrome and IE.
Also, if your browser is going via a proxy, such as on a corporate network, that can also corrupt your session.
 
I have had it happen to me a couple of times, mainly when inserting links for photographs and the time that takes...
For long write ups I do as mentioned above, word first then copy and paste...

what sort of time are you having issues with?
