Tiny hole in condenser and one rotten! Plus 2x RMS in 10mths!!

Hi guys,
a recent trip to OPC discovered that my RMS is leaking a bit after having it and the IMS seal done in May last year. Is this normal?!!

Car is under warranty (OPC) so RMS will be free but seems odd to me for such a major thing so soon!

Anyway the condensers were inspected while i was there and one is rotten and will be replaced under warranty and the other has a tiny hole in it they think (wet patch size of 50p in middle of condenser) and so this one wont be covered and will cost me £297 incl fitting, does this seem good / right?

Does the job really need doing on the side not covered?

What if the holed one has evidence of corrosion on it too? (i guess i know the answer..)

It was suggested that this was a cheap price as the bumper etc was off already.

Thanks in advance for your comments

Rick

not sure if it helps but allegedley they need to use a special tool to fit the rms without damaging it at the opc.....there was stony silence when i asked what his name was.

might be worth asking if they know about this 'new' method - mine was done about 3 months ago.

Hi Rick,
still amazing that these car have the RMS Issue in the later 2004 models, fyi I have similar car 3.2 S and same body colour and registered Sept 04, has special order full cinnamon leather and Bose and Techart side skirts, same wheels with Michelin's, so far to date I am ok as car has done under 11000 miles & passed a PCGB R11 free 211 inspection a thousand miles or so ago and our main dealer found no issues other than the passenger vanity mirror light did not work and qould require replacement. I have no PSM but doubt that makes any difference, however if you tracked it I wonder if that causes enough pressure to blow out the replacement? better luck in future and don't be afraid of trying a specialist, there are some good ones out there who know there stuff.
best regards
