Tiny Paint Bubbles

My 79 911SC has started to show some small bubbles in the paintwork at various points on the bodywork. Not many and not very noticable but I guess this is the onset of rust. Has anyone had experience of dealing with or remedying these or do I need to consider a full respray?

Don't have a full respray done on the basis of a few bubbles Ryan. Mine has them here and there too, most cars of this age do. Sometimes it's a reaction to previous paint when parts of the car have been seperately sprayed. Keep an eye on the area and see if they get much worse. The small bubbles i've had on my car have been there for a few years and have remained very localised.

I've a a couple on my SC. Just keeping an eye on them, but hopefully they seem to be staying static. I can excuse the old girl she is 22 years old!!

Be very careful when you start to investigate the 'odd bubble'!! The following is an extract of a posting that I put on the forum some time ago:

I had a 911 Targa ('84 Carrera) a few years ago and it seemed in very good condition apart from the odd bubble on the B pillars. Anyhow to cut a very long story short, I had the 'bubbles' and the rest of the car looked at and BOY - did I get a shock! £10,000 later the body was perfect (and so it should be!) and I understand that the next owner spent another £10,000+ getting the engine and gearbox made perfect.
My advice? Its easy to let the heart rule your decision, but unless you have plenty of money or/and can do the work yourself - stay clear! It'll be a money pit!

Best of luck, just be prepared for the odd surprise should you decide to dig deeper.
