Tip lever sticking

Its good to be back! But not for the right reasons :(

My Tip box has started to jam in Park and Neutral, and needs to be yanked into gear. Not Good.Even with the brake pedal depressed. It feels like the lever's button just sticks and won't budge, and when I try to depress it it wont travel far enough to allow the lever to move into gear (I also hear a clicking sound emanating from the ignition switch area). So I took it to my local OPC (Staples Corner) who replaced a few worn bushes and charged £87. One week later, and the problem has returned.

It doesnt end there. My car (97 2.5 tip) fires up intermittently, I turn the key, all the lights go on, the fans blow, the top comes down, but the starter motor does nothing, the engine doesnt fire up. Several tries later and it always everntually starts. Back to the OPC, they tested everything, and of course it started for them every time. Another £120. problem still there!

Very depressing!
Any ideas would be very welcome!
