tiptronic fluid change

hi all, just to let anyone interested know that my recent atf fluid and filter change has now been carried out and was pretty much straight forward. only problem I had was with 9 of the sump bolts rounding on trying to remove. as luck would have it, my local indie PCT COVENTRY who I cannot speak highly enough of, came to the rescue with the last 9 bolts that they had in stock. one point worth mentioning was that on filling up whilst at 70 degrees it took 5 1/2- 6 ltrs to get to required level. I suspect that the extra amount of fluid over Richard hamiltons estimate was due to the fact that the valveblock was dripping constantly whilst I had the sump pan off for for several hours whilst cleaning/ sanding/spraying the outside before refitting. I hope this helps anyone who intends to carry out this procedure themselves.

hi, I bought the draper filling tool that I was advised to buy and it did the job although it did leak slightly which also probably explains why I used more than the estimated amount on refilling. regards ray.

hi, forgot to add, if it was yourself who recommended the tool then many thanks and if it wasn't then many thanks to the person who did.

Hello, Nope it wasn't me but next time you might want to conceder this Valve and some pipe.
Then turn your bottle upside down standing at the side off your car and when you see fluid start to level line shut off the valve.
Im sure theres a DIY on Rentech.
