Tiptronic gear shift

[:)] Just for information, I have been annoyed by my gear shift ever since my mechanic mate said that he thought it was a bit tight! This bothered me as I thought it was normal to fight with the gear stick with a modicom of force to engage drive & reverse, as this is my only experience with a porsche boxster. One and a half years later I have found out via the tinternet that at the rear of the gearbox where the cable linkage is, there is a linkage & pivot with a plastic bush and pivot pin. The bush is increadably tight on the pin thus adding loads of friction to the whole linkage. Once removed from the pivot by removing a circlip, the gearshift moves as smooth as silk!!!. I wound a 10.5mm dia drill through the plastic bush by hand and replaced the assembly. ureka. I am just so happy!!!
