tiptronic gearbox problem

Hi, I am a new member looking for some advice regarding a problem with my tiptronic gearbox. The car has gone into limp mode and comes up with speed sensor n3 when scanned. Can you tell me if I need to replace the whole conductor plate or can I get the sensors on their own?
Has anyone else had this problem and what was the fix?
kind regards Neil Stride

Hi! You'll have to replace the whole conductor plate along with a fluid / filter change. It's actually possible to get the conductor plate from a Mercedes dealer as the box is the same as used in the 500SL and, unlike Porsche, they'll sell the plate without the Valve Body, saving many £££
It's also possible to do all the above without removing the unit from the car.
