Tiptronic Issue

I have a problem with my 2000 996 cabriolet tiptronic. Everything was working fine however one of the steering wheel buttons broke - was falling out - so I had it replaced. Now neither the horn nor the tiptronic works at all. The car drives fine in auto but when you switch to manual - nothing.

Any ideas on what might be causing this before I have the hassle of going back to the garage. Wondered if it might be a fuse or possibly a faulty switch but surely the other one would work.

Many thanks

It sounds like they haven't connected up the tip switch and horn properly. They both go through the contact unit on the top of the steering column.

+1 Yep ill second that.

First thing that normally goes wrong on any Car is those darn slip contact rings.
(did they replace it? Might be lacquer on the new contacts?)

Tell em to check there work, Tell them what they haven't done make them feel embarrass at there work.

To many people repay for work to be done because Garages don't check what they have done.
