Tiptronic issues

Do we have a 964 tiptronic expert in our midst ? I have owned my car for 10 years and up until a couple of years ago the tiptronic worked well, now it changes up to 4th normally but after around 1 mile drops back to 3rd . Sometimes I also get some harsh 2nd gear changes, driving in manual in ok. The car has been to a gearbox specialist and they suggested a new multifunction switch but after many weeks I was able to get one from America but unfortunately it has not helped so any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks Geoff.
