Tiptronic problems

I have recently posted because of an engine 'blow up' and sooting exhaust and have put this message at the end of that, but it may get missed so I am doing a separate request for feedback.

In the excitement of the OPC (Nottingham) writing and offering to buy my car back at 'trade' because of my 'minor' problems I forgot about the replacement Tiptronic gearbox fitted in Feb 06 because of a factory recall. My memory tells me this recall was because the Tip box 'could' allow the engine to overrev, but I am 'of an age' and may be wrong. Can anyone assist.
