To brade or not to brade.

Just fitting new brake lines. Do braded hoses make much of a difference of shall I stick with OEM?
If the consensus is to go braded, can anyone recommend any?

Thanks!

I have the HEL front ones and replaced the rears with new standard rubber ones.

The school of thought was that the rubber hoses in the rear were better at absorbing the torsional forces on them applied by the suspension moving up and down than braided ones would be. Don’t know how much truth there is in it but it made sense to me and they’re much easier to inspect.

I've got them all round (Goodridge) and I think the pedal is a bit firmer. Had also read about leaving the rears non-braided but ended up fitting all 4 and haven't had any issues so far, a few years down the line.

I would definitely recommend doing the fronts and make your mind up about the rears.

i also went for goodridge on the fronts and replaced the read for new standard items about 5 years back in its last state of tune , as well as the slider plates and i can deffinately say for me it was night and day ,..quicker more solid pedal for sure

Thanks gents, great advice as ever. My rears are all good so I think I'm going to leave them and will get some Goodridge ones for the front.
Out of interest do they include the rubber gromit to attach to the strut like the originals?
