I am installing the 924GT inspired nose which i got off ebay. What do you guys think of the Euro(box) type side skirts? Sideskirts . Thanks for your inputs.

Not for me thank you. I prefer these

I don't see the need for them, car is well-designed so why try to add to it? They are good at hiding the sills, so I've seen them used to cover problems.

I think there is huge potential to update the looks and provide some protection with the use of decent side skirts but none on the market look any good in my view. I would like to see something like the 996 GT3 side skirts, but i've not seen anything like those -they all look too boxy or just a bit boy-racer.

You mean something like this?

GT3 style skirts made by my friend on trial fit. He never installed them, went to modified Strosek style. This 951 was wrecked 1½ ago.

I've got them on mine not through choice though came with the car and while the sills have both been done they weren't finished very well which i guess is why they were put on there.
Not a fan of them if I'm honest

The only side skirts even remotely acceptable on the 944 in my opinion are the 968 skirts. But thats just me

My 1985 hillclimber came with them from the factory (or perhaps the dealers). I took them off in 1996 when it was re-painted, because they looked cr*p even then.....

And they will be coming off mine eventually once I have the funds to have the sills finished off properly.

That waistline between the wings is one of the things that makes the car look so good IMO

Thanks guys for your comments. I guess I will pass on these skirts. The 968 inspired ones maybe look better but maybe the consensus is that the sideskirts hide damage. I will post some pic of the GT nose once its painted [;)]

968 sideskirts don't look good on 944's In my view. Their line is alot lower than the sill line so don't really link up with the line of the rear of the car behind the wheel.

I've a really good picture of Fenns car with the 968 skirts. They are extremely subtle with the dark grey paint but I think they add to the overall affect of making one of the nicest 944's I've seen. It makes the car look more modern but it is of a particular look. You lose some of the character of the cars shape in my opinion.
