I think the Honda is on it's way. He's enjoyed 5 years with Type R but the ride is rock solid and it not cheap to run.
This 944 is very nice, it's a August 91 car (Plate is not real) with full history and very little tin worm. Dansk exhaust belts and cam chain done, new koni shocks in May '15. leather has been replaced at some time, in good nick.
A years MOT, not sure about the decals and tyres, don't like the aftermarket steering wheel, or the Boxster wheels, but hey ho I don't have to drive it.
I did bring it home down the M6 last night and I think I saw 3 figures on the speedo, must have been an illusion as I never went over 70MPH, honest officer...........................

The wheel appears to be a cheap nasty Momo Race copy, but the hub will accommodate a genuine Momo Corse or Monte Carlo too.
I share you distaste for the wheels. Mine has similar but I have bought a couple of sets of correct Gullideckel Disc wheels and two sets of Design 90s too. They look far better but the 17" wheels have a far superior tyre choice.

What's the year identifier in the VIN? A '91 S2 should have a bridge spoiler. If its was registered in August 1991 then I presume that it was a late registration, assuming all original. 944 production had completely stopped by then and they were about to start 968 production.
Hi Simon, something a bit weird is the Vin goves me a 1989 mfg date but first registered 2nd August 1991 which would make it an "H" I think it was registered as HDZ 363 S at some stage, then A2LKJ, then F61 MRC.
Not sure how or why a 1989 mfg would not be registered then?
It's had a new clutch in 2001, new starter motor 2001, new alternator 2009 , new ARB ends 2010 new front discs and pads 2011, cylinderhead re-furb, new valves, belts and chain, 2012, new steering rack 2013.
It's done 8000 miles in the last 5 years.
Bit of a bargain I think, should'nt go down in value, hopefully go up.

I think you're right Simon on both counts. The sills will undoubtedly need investigation, but it gives him something to play with in the winter months. The good news is it has got an MOT till June '16 so he's plenty of time to get it right.
Any ideas where these decals come from? They look very professionally done.
And I'm wondering about the missing year 1990, could it have been an Australian car? Or some kind of display vehicle?
the decals are on both sides.

It does look as if an >ahem< enthusiastic owner has had it for a while. I also noticed that the badges on the back don't line up, so they aren't original. The gear lever gaiter and mats look like cheap copies and I don't go a bundle on the seat belt pads. And are those additional running lights stuck on the bottom of the front nosecone? Also what's going on with the front end alignment - the photos don't seem to have everything in line, although they could be poor photos. However none of these things are biggies and a fussy owner could put them right for pennies, particularly if they are practical.
As has been said, that's a good price for an S2, particularly at that mileage. I hope he enjoys owning it! And some more time at the wheel of a 944 can only help his track times, eh?
Oli.
P.S. Is it wrong to say that I quite like the side decals ....

Glad you managed to snap it up before a certain well known dealer got hold of it, in which case it would be up for sale again now at ummm...£7,995? with a much more flowery description.
Steering wheel is a bit of a shocker, but I rather like the white dial faces. I'd missed what Oli pointed out which look like some sort DRL's in the nose, but did notice the additional red button on the centre console - is it the switch for those?
Vent in nearside B pillar appears to be missing making inner sill inspection easy!
Looks like an all round great buy - enjoy [8D]

Funny, the decals have grown on me and the're very neat and professionally done. The steering wheel looks horrible but is ok to drive with. I removed the vent cover so as to have a closer inspection of sills, no doubt they will need some attention, but the inner sills are as new, the outers less so. But all in all as you say a neat enough car, and would have been twice the price if a dealer had got his hands on it.
The chap who owned it was not computer literate so (60's) and it had been put on PH by an associate. Hence I think he was less than aware of the recent interest in 944's.
Tom picked up list night and drove it back to Peterbro, I think the smile will take some time to wear off.
