Just installed a Fabspeed 4" exhaust system on my 86 Turbo. The sound meter is reading 105dbs at 4000 rpm - too loud for the track days I have in mind for the car. Can anyone provide advice on mufflers, silencers or other fixes to shave off 7 dbs or so? Many thanks in advance.

Hi there i have the same system, you need to speak to Promax in Milton keynes they will stop your ears bleeding!,they know this system, mine is very usable now although you will still only be able to get in on the 105db days... what they will be able to do is take away the extreme boom and replace it with a rumble[]If you muffle it too much it will spoil its flow advantage i would have thought and tennis balls will no longer pass straight through it[]Mine is going lovely goldy colour with burnt looking edges of the tail pipe or some reason[8|]

Would love to hear how you get on,i think getting below 98db will not be easy..Mine is a lot less boomy there was a frequency at a certain rpm which i can't remember that was almost painful, all that has gone now and it is very bearable now, i got in at Snetterton at 103dbs and had no problems in the day,i went to Rockingham last week, although i was not measured nobody said anything throughout the day.
