Noooooooooooooooo. Not after that hamfisted bunch had seen if they could break it. And since the entire country knows what he bought it for, and how much they spent on whoring it up....

If you were to buy it, it would be pointless saying you had "the Top Gear 924' but had to rip the heinous decals off it and repatriate the interior to be seen in public. Skull gear knob? One step beyond max power that is.

And as for that sad line "but its not a real porsche" (Clackity Clack Clarkson) well, my 944 uses bits off a VW transporter (relays, and more I am sure). Great. I can try 3 dealerships to see if they have parts in stock.. yawn... next. (they don't by the way. And the price is identical at all them. Price fixing I suspect tsk tsk.)

Besides, according to some uber purists the last REAL PORSCHE was a 356 'back in the day'. If you ask me, if they hadn't nastied it up, the 924 would have white washed the entire lot. And if Mr Hammond had parted the thing( if the you guys are anything like the 944 forum guys are), he could have sold every scrap of the car in under a minute... and the bits wouldn't be made into 'furinture'.

When the time comes to replace my daily drive lullaby Toyota (yawn yawn yawn) the first people I will look to is you guys, and not a program that has driven a 911 into a brick building (broke the building) and then dropped it on a caravan....

And before I get flamed to death,

A. Top Gear is great. Any program that has Jodi Kidd flogging a Suzuki Liana round a track making whinneying noises can't be all bad.
B. look at the badge..... it says Porsche. 4,6,8 cyliders, back, middle or front mounted. Red, black, or yellow.
C. Nuff said. From him who drives a car with a V8 engine cut in half. Ingenious. (besides half the unlit switch gear on the centre console. Who needs to open the sun roof at night anyway).

Sorry to disappoint but when I had a 356 back in 1976 it was regarded with the same disdain then as the 924 is by some people now . . . " a poor mans Porsche " or " Just a sort of VW "

After the show aired, i got loads of stick from my mates about it not being a proper porsche. However, the tables suddenly turned when they finaly saw mine [:D]; sorry what anyone tinks but a proper porsche is one baring that badge dont you think?

As i have said before so i say again "Even a baby shark, still a SHARK", so let the little fish have a nibble they soon turn tail when they really understand and see the 924's little teeth [:D]
