Top of Windscreen

Driving along, minding my own business, when I heard a weird flapping noise from above my head. Turned out it is the metal strip that runs across the windscreen, I taped it down with duct tape temporarily and I have now had chance to look into it and it is coming away all across the screen. There seems to be some sort of retaining clips evry 6 inches or so but as you can see from the pic there is some corrosion in there as well. Has anyone had this problem (944 is the same I expect) - any suggestions welcome!
Regards
Alan

Early 944lux has a very similar fitment which was subsequently changed. And yes they pop out too and corrode inside, clean in the groove and use non-hardset mastic discreetly to re-secure, not a permanent fix but it works.

Alan,
Same problem with the bits down the sides. I lost one of mine on the M55 in the dark, wondered what the hell the noise was. Replacement strip and all the others now secured with clear silicon sealant. Looks a mess but so does the rest of the car![:)]
Cheers,

Thanks guys I'll get the mastik out tomorrow and try that, one thing after another isn't it... but at least we don't have RMS to worry about eh ;)
