torx tube queery

I have a clonk on slight left and right hand turns that is sometimes noisier and sometimes not.This has steadily got more apparent since a transmission replacement 12 months ago.Is it possible that it could be related to the rear end of the torx tube connection on the splines?
I just wonder if anybody else has had any problems with this,I have checked the driveshafts and they appear to be ok(not the clicking type noise you would experience)

Unlikely to be related to the spline connection. This is two spline shafts that meet up end-to-end, with a sleeve that slides over them both. I don't know how this would clonk - it would either work or not work.

It could be the gearbox moving around, but this isn't terribly likely as there is very little sideways torque exerted on it (due to the design of the torque tube.) Are you sure that all your suspension bushes are as they should be?

The torque tube bearings can wear, although its far less common on a 931/944.
