Hi Everyone,
Just a quick update on the TOTEM. We have had fantastic interest in this event, even an entry from the Isle of Sheppey in Kent ( my Mums birthplace and my childhood destination for skool holidays).
As of today we have the maximum of 50 paid up entries and are therefore full. However we are still getting requests for an entry so with this in mind I have decided to start a reserve list of a maximum of 10.This will be on a first come first served basis. If no one drops out and there are no places to fill then I will give the reserve list the opportunity to join us on the road run and you will get everything except for the dinner at the end. This will cost £25.00 per car to cover expenses etc. I shall endeavour to find somewhere nearby to get a Sunday roast if required. Another alternative would be to book at The Aviator Hotel at Sywell aerodrome, our half way halt, for Sunday lunch.
Thank you all for your support on this event.
Looking forward to seeing you all and sharing a low calorie pastry at the Porsche Centre, Leicester on the 10th August.
Happy and safe summer.
Regards

Ade - Clerk of the Course

Hi Everyone
The finish destination - Barnsdale - has now allocated us a much bigger room for the end meal (seems a wedding has cancelled) so we can take a few more than 50 entrants for the TOTEM.
Please email Peter Haynes lotus@peterehaynes.plus.com if you are interested in joining us.

Thanks
Kerry

Hi All

I went round some of the Leicester ring road, the natural route from the M1 northbound to Porsche Centre Leicester and saw some signs suggesting that the road will be closed at some point on Sunday.

I would suggest that anybody coming up from the south on the M1 take J21a and follow the A46 to Syston, turn right at the roundabout, follow the road to Sainsbury's and turn left on to the original route.

Then its over the bridge, over the roundabout, up the hill, right at the roundabout, right at the lights and right and right!

Gutted- V666DER wouldnt start last night after coming home from work. Thought it was battery so managed to get her going and down to Zentrum, but Mike's diagnosed alternator so will be Porscheless tomorrow[:(]

OK if I bring Zoes TT? (diesel- yuck!). Will try to keep her out of the group photos (and the TT[:D])

Craig

Hi Craig and Zoe
You will be more than welcome in whatever.
Sorry, for you that it will not be a Porsche, but it is the company that matters [:D]
See you tomorrow,
Cheers
Kerry and Tom

What a good day we all had yesterday!!! [:D] [:D] [:D]

With leaking soft tops, a Boxster Spyder with a minimal roof, entrants all the way from France and some of us who had the roof down in places, even hurricane Bertha couldn't dampen the 'bull dog' spirit of the TOTEM participants

A big THANKYOU to all (amazingly were only a couple of cars short) who braved the weather forecast and completed the wonderful route Peter and Adrian had prepared.

Also thanks to PC Leicester for their sponsorship and naughty but nice breakfasts [;)]

Adrian has announced the date for next year so looks like he will be doing it all again [:)]

See you all in 2015........or at the next club night on the 1st September.

Cheers

Kerry and Tom

Good Morning All,
hope that you all got home safely and have dried out from yesterday.

I just want to say a huge Thank You to you all for making the supreme effort to support the event yesterday. To see 50 cars lined up at the start, when the weather forecast suggested that it was better to stay in bed, makes all the organising worthwhile. The fact that people made it from all our neighbouring regions, the West Midlands,Yorkshire, Hampshire, Kent and France shows that the bulldog spirit is not dead yet!!!
Big thanks to all my organising team and everyone at Porsche Centre Leicester, couldn't do it without you.

A big Thank You also for your generosity with the collection for my charity, I will keep you informed about the final outcome.

Maps are out for next year. so I look forward to seeing you all again perhaps, August 9th 2015.

Enjoy the rest of the summer

Kind regards

Adrian

Hi Everyone.
We have just arrived home from TOTEM having made a weekend of it.
We would like to thank ALL the organising team for a fantastic event and the best tulip maps I've ever come across.
Looking forward to seeing you all another time.

Just to say thanks to all the team for the effort in organising. Just goes to show a good event gets support whatever the weather
A great day ( little damp in the car :) ) but route superb, we will go around in the dry
Meal at end excellent in great location, at least it was good enough for a good blast home in the evening sun with the roof off
Many thanks
Can we come again next year?

Just another quick thanks for another great TOTEM- couldn't do anything about the weather but still some great roads, challenging directions and lots of laughs.

Many thanks to Adrian and Peter for the all your hard work in planning the route, Tom and Kerry for arranging and OPC Leicester for their hospitality and breakfast, and anyone else involved who I have rudely forgotten but still deserves our thanks!

Cheers

Craig and Zoe.

It sounds like you all had a brilliant time and I am gutted that we couldn't make it - as always, we were trying to squeeze a quart into a pint pot time wise before we went on holiday and something had to give!

Just to say - it's very hot in Tenerife without a cloud in the sky!!!

Looking forward to seeing you all.

Pictures - reduced resolution - Here

Excellent pictures as usual Mike
We think you managed to catch the 'wet and dry' aspects of the day brilliantly [:)]
(or should that be wet and not quite so wet!)
Cheers
Kerry and Tom

Huge thanks Mike you put a lot of effort in ensuring all cars pictured, especially trying in the conditions
Many thanks once again
