Touch up paint for RS Spyder Wheels

Hi,
I have a few chips on the paintwork on the wheels, does anybody know if I can get some touch up paint. I spoke to the dealer who said ’we only paint the whole wheel’ inferring that Porsche do not do a touch up paint. Perhaps there is somebody who makes Satin touch up paint to order ?

Thanks

Neil

I will be interested to hear any comments, as I also have a few chips on my Satin RS Spyder wheels......

The experience I have had with my OPC regarding wheel paint is pretty dismal.

Wheels are supplied to Porsche painted by their suppliers. Therefore they cannot supply touch up paint for wheels. I was directed to Halfords!

Pretty poor effort by Porsche IMHO.

You can often get away with touching in satin wheels using a matt black base colour - perhaps mixed with a tiny amount of another colour to blend it in. Alternatively, visit your friendly local vehicle repair workshop and get them to mix you up a small quantity or try someone like these people https://www.advancedpaints.co.uk/product/porsche-satin-black-2/?attribute_pa_size=400ml&attribute_pa_finish=pacific&gclid=Cj0KCQjw-O35BRDVARIsAJU5mQWJfryemcirEnuq3yIoc0GbiUYR5jBlxCfLbblcqLeWkvatuVmZHkkaAtREEALw_wcB

Thanks Clive,
I e-mailed this company and got a reply saying that they did not have a match for the paint but would contact their supplier.
I will report back when I have a response.

Regards

Neil

I had a call from Lee at Advanced paints to say their supplier had managed to match the colour. So ordered an aerosol of the colour, plus clear coat and shipping -cost £33.89.
Very good service , advised them there may be others who may be interested. Will await the product and report back after trying it out.

Sorry to report but the paint supplied by Allied paints was not a match, probably a better match for the carerra S silver wheels !

Just an update on this.

I am pleased to report that I have managed to find a supplier for the Satin Platinum touch up paint for the RS Spyder wheels.

I was looking at Porsche Post last month and came across an advert for Touch Up Paint factory, could not see the paint colour on the web site as registration number search matches up to body colour but I e-mailed them and they notified me of the paint code which is 0B5.

Tried it out today and is a good match. Paint comes as a 30ml touch up pot and is applied as a single coat so no lacquer to apply.

Approx £20 including shipping.

If you contact the company they respond quickly and can send you a link to purchase the appropriate paint.

I`m sure a call to them will clarify ...

My touch up pot is labelled POR 0B5, is too dark for my 981 GT4 wheels (which may have been repainted prior to my purchase ?)

Just an update to say I have received my touch up paint and it is a very good match for the Carrera Classic Wheels found on the 992 as well as the Spyder wheels mentioned above.

So very pleased. Thank you for posting
