I've worked on this event for last 3 years. It's a really good 3 days with competitors really going for it on the track sections( and road sections if it comes to that )!!. Always a good 911 turnout.

Tracks this year are Snetterton, Mallory, Silverstone and Oulton - full itinerary on Tour B. website as above.

Spectators free at above tracks.

Phil

Look forward to seing you - though I have to say that my attendance is in doubt at the moment - post holiday chest infection thing which is making me feel ghastly!!

Will keep you posted.

It will be good to see you all at a event.
Car is loaded up and looking forward to the tuesday morning off from duxford.
We will give it our best Laura

Not the picture we wanted to see . . . but Paul had a little altercation with an E type at the start of his race at Snetterton (looked like wing damage mainly), when a Bizzarrini 5300 GTstalled on the front row. It put his car out of action for the rest of the day (not sure if they managed to fix it last night). Luckily Neil Primrose happend to have his ST . . . . which appeared later on in the race adopting the race numbers . . . so perhaps they'll continue with this instead.

I smile wryly when I see ""TOUR BRITTANIA" and the route hardly goes outside middle England

Maybe next year it will come North

It is the Tour Britannia, not the Tour of Britain, then again it may work on the same principle that saw the RAC Rally of Great Britian end up just visiting Wales[:D]

Whatever - it's a great event, sorry to have missed seeing any of it this year.

[FONT=arial"]The qualifying in the rain or river in places was interesting, farmyard come s to mind from all the cars going off, after all that the tracktime keepers never got my qualifying time and just placed me two thirds down the grid!!
We then had some bad luck at the first race at snetterton,a car stalled on the line and we had a 4 car pile up,the Bizzarini stalled, the ferrari daytona hit the Bizza, the Lightweight E type hit the daytona and went sideways infront of me,i ended up with a E type on my bonnet and my back wheels left the ground, lucky my car just kind of scooped the E type up and no real impact, my car is not to bad with no inner panel damage, just front wing and bonnet, even the front bumper is ok.

Lucky we had neils car as our spares package,so we threw some tyres on the car from my car,we had to disconnect the anti roll bars, as the front mounting bracket broke off while discconneting it to adjust it for the first special stage,so the day was real interesting driving.
We jumped in it and away .It felt like a old slipper after it had a good day of thrashing around and getting some good air at one special stage. Its great when your navigator/owner of the car you are driving says flat over the small hump bridge,so i kindly obliged!!

[FONT=verdana, geneva"][FONT=verdana, geneva"][FONT=arial"]Because we missed 4 laps at snetterton we were never going to get that time back over just 3 days,we were running last after the first day and slowly picked our way back up to 17 th overall and 4th in class. Most of the special stages we were in the top 5,and one fastest stage time through cornbury park, but sadly all the circuit races we had to start from the back of the grid because of the snetterton result on the first day, good fun with plenty of overtaking from the back, but not enough laps, only 8 to try and get some where near the front!.
There was a lot of retirements and damaged cars, mainly due to the terrible weather and track conditions

Paul,

I popped in to Coombe Abbey on my way home from work on Wednesday and Thursday, and was suprised to see the 'green' car by your trailer - the above explains this.

Is the 'green' car a pokka ST - great spare to have access to :)

Really bad luck for you, but glad it sounds repairable without too much pain.

There seemed an unusually small number of cars in 'Parc Ferme' at around 6:30pm so I didn't stay long - perhaps they were all at Silverstone watching the last of the Competition races.

Better luck for 2009.

Ian
