TOUR OF EAST MIDLANDS 2015

Sponsored by Porsche Centre Leicester

PCGB Region 8 East Midlands

9th August 2015

This will be our 5th running of the tour

The organising team, led by Adrian Ancliffe has planned a route taking entrants on rural roads through the picturesque villages and lanes of Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland.
The tour has no competitive element and is intended as an opportunity to discover some of the lesser known parts of the East Midlands.

Once again the event will start from the Porsche Centre Leicester and finish at Barnsdale Hall Hotel, near Oakham.

Hot drinks and pastries will be provided at the start and a two-course meal at the finish.
There will be a morning coffee break and a lunch halt. Refreshments at the start, mid-morning break and food at the finish are included in the entry fee of £50.00. (For a crew of 2).

The half way halt will be at Belvoir Castle, we recommend bringing a picnic lunch as there is only basic refreshments available at this venue.
Plenty of time has been allowed for a leisurely lunch and stroll around the grounds.

We aim to provide an enjoyable a day out with good company and
excellent scenery.

Thanks to the generosity from entrants and Porsche Centre Leicester, last year we were able to make a donation to a national charity, The Royal British Legion. This year we are again hoping to make a donation to this charity.

The maximum number of entries for the event is 50, and will be accepted on first come first served basis.

Entries close on 1st August. All entries must be made on the Official entry form and accompanied by the entry fee of £50.00. (Add £20.00 per person if more than 2 people in the car). Cheques made payable to PCGB.

Hi all

many thanks to the team another fantastic event, great roads, food and company . To top it off roof down weather all day

well done

Hello Peter

I am very sorry that I couldn't make the Totem.

As per my phone call earlier we had a bit of a family crisis to sort out.

Thing seem to have calmed down a bit now.

Glad Ra was shining on all those Porsches !

PS Hope our dinners were quaffed by you hungry hordes !

Regards.

Kev

Hi All, A few thank you's.

Just like to say a huge thank you to all of you who attended the 5th TOTEM, I hope is was an enjoyable day for you.

The sight of 50 cars parked at Belvoir Castle with everybody enjoying a picnic and each others company whist basking in the sun, makes it all worth while.

Sorry about the cyclists, it is something that is out of my control. We do try to find out what else is going on in the area, but it is not always possible.

Big thanks to my organising team, Peter, Rick, Judith, Tom and Kerry, without you it would be hard work. Also Mike for the photos.

Big thanks to Richard Grout and Natalie at Porsche Centre, Leicester, for the excellent start facilities and your help and support.

Even bigger thanks for your generosity on the day, the collection for my Royal British Legion Pedal to Paris bike ride raised £212.00, brilliant as most of you had been plagued by cyclists at some point in the day.

Maps are out for next year, Sunday August 14th 2016, so hopefully we will see you all then.

Have a safe and happy summer.

Kind regards,

Adrian

Just to add to Adrian's post, thanks to all the attendees - what a super event in the sunshine.

This was all thanks to the work and excellent attention to detail by Adrian and Peter.

We hope we can organise the sunshine again in 2016.

Cheers

Kerry and Tom

As always, an exceptionally well organised and thoroughly enjoyable event, our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in making it so. The complimentary bacon/sausage butties at Leicester OPC were a nice surprise this year and very yummy. And we were chuffed to get a rosette for being TOTEM stalwarts, nice touch [:)]

Looking forward to making our 6th one next year...when does registration start [;)]
