That would be great thanks young manORIGINAL: A9XXC Mine only has the cross bar still fitted but I can take some pics in the morning
Hi Steve - I rarely get called young man by any one less than about 80! Not sure if these pics show what you're looking for! My car has the remains of a towbar and electrics but those remains dont seem to equate with the towbar as shown in the PET and looking at the PET, I can see no reason to cut the diffuser as mine is!

Thanks Mike that is useful, based on that would be happy to fit a towbar to mine. My 44 is my daily driver since my XC70 decided to eat its bottom end. It does all I could wish for except tow. So time to rectify that and will have my perfect means of transport, fun and haulage vehicle all rolled into one. What more could a man ask for[

No idea if anything has been replaced (bumper etc) but the PET drawing looks like it would fit under the bumper and guessing over the diffuser, would make a mess of a toast rack!

Toast racks belong on the breakfast table [

I can confirm that a good section of a toast rack has to be removed to facilitate a towbar. Mine previously had one and the bracket etc are still there and as I have the toast rack off at the minute I can post up a picture tomorrow of exactly how much needs removed and the postion etc [

Just noticed you say you have an S2 but I see Mike has posted what needs to be done to the turbo style valance, as for the bumper, no adjustsments needed but it will stand proud of the body by the thickness of the cross member. Just taken mine off today as it happens. Now you see it...
Now you don't
Just for reference this is how much of a toast rack valance needs to be removed

Is that a toast rack? looks more like a valance. Just for clarification
Toast rack on the left Valance on the right MB A9XXC is now on the 2.7 with the valance and the toast rack is now A748YOV and has been sold!

Yep thats what I class as a toast rack / valance at least, chances are that now I have mine off I'll leave it like that til I can find a turbo style one ( I know its not an original option but I do prefer the less fussy look of the turbo one
Think it was an option, Paul.

I do hate changing how the car originally came out of the showroom, but that picture of your 2 together Mike kind of makes my mind up [
] And as an optional add on for that year I can justify it [

Guys, You are aware there are two types of towbar? The one shown is for late cars, with the Turbo style valance (it also has a brace which goes to the underside of the spare wheel well. There is another which is for early cars... Either will fit one either car, it just means the valence doesn't... Stupidly, I had a late towbar on my early car, and now have an early towbar on my S2. I have now aquired a proper S2 towbar for my S2, so at some stage will find out if it does fit without hacking up the valance. At the moment, the right hand half of the valance has been left off. I doubt the early towbar would clear a toastrack spoiler though. Tref.

I've still got the cross bar, was going to throw it up on ebay but I don't know what other bits you'd need to make it work

If you look at the pics of the rear of my car you will see the position of the 2 bolts that would hold the brace to the spare tyre well, something I have yet to remove, just looking for the right sized bungs to put in there once I remove the bolts. As mentioned I only have the cross member, but you can have it for the cost of postage, which with a courier should be around £12 -15
Attached promised picture... The S2 towbar is on the ground, the early 944 towbar fitted to the car (S2 missing large half of valence). the difference is the flat plate goes down to meet the wheel-well stay on the early towbar, where as the stay rises up to meet the flat plate on the S2 version.
