Towing Eye question

Have a wee question for you lads.. Myself and a friend are going to Mondello Park track day with his '87 Turbo. He has misplaced the towing eye [] My car is in Donegal so I cant get mine. According to the PET there are 2 different types.. One I presume is for Lux the other Turbo/S2. Is there any possiblity that I can get towing eye from a VW or Audi that will fit ..? Or will I go to the scrappie and just root around....[&:]

It's always looked to me that the towing eye is pretty specific for our cars, in fact it's the first car I've ever owned that had a removeable one. Doubt if Audi or VW would be much help [&o]

Don't quote me on this, but I believe both 944 variants may use the same thread, the S2/Turbo just has a smaller eye on it. However I wouldn't want to put a bet on it [:)].

Would be interesting to find out how much a new one costs as non of my 3 cars have one which i think is tempting fate a bit !!

Peter may be right, the only difference in both the -85, -88 944 PETs is an extra one for the turbo (M058 is "impact bumpers fitted", so longer towing eye?)

-85 PET
996 721 151 00
928 712 101 25 M058

-88 PET
996 721 151 00
928 722 101 05 M058
951 722 101 00 Turbo

The last time I enquired about price, they weren't that much I just couldn't work out which one I needed for my 928 (there is a 03 code one as well).
