A while back, a thread was posted regarding front towing eyes. At Silverstone Classic I had a look at Mel's Cup car and decided to make something similar. I have completed the prototype which is on my car and have made a couple of others to see if anyone would be interested. They are currently on Ebay, just type in Porsche Carrera Cup Style Towing Eye. There are two available, one in yellow and one in red. They come powder coated and complete with stainless steel fittings and full fitting instructions. £20 each plus £3 p&p.

Towing Eyes

Unfortunately it does involve drilling a couple of holes in the front luggage compartment, but nothing really tricky
Hi Rob
The area at the front of the luggage compartment is double skinned and already quite strong. I found that a large washer on the back was sufficient to provide a strong mounting point.

Hi Rich
Yes, no problem, it comes with two 50mm square x 3mm thick washers/reinforcing plates. I installed them on mine and they will never pull through, even with the most heavy handed marshall.

Just to quick post to say Steve got straight back to me and I promptly received a red towing eye, fitting kit and full instructions the very next day. The towing eye is nicely powder coated and was very easy to fit - actually the hardest bit was locating a 12mm HSS drill bit. Very pleased with the result - and the car now looks like it's sticking it's tongue out.
Hi Rich
That looks great, was going to ask how you got on today, but by the look of things, all went well.
