Quick question men, purchased toyo R888's for this years' track season.....what are the prefered pressures please ( PSI )?
Normally run 30 on front (hot ) and 32 on rear (hot) on Bridgestones...

Cheers!

Matt.

Thanks for that Ian.....Will you be at the PCGB track day at Donington this year pal ? Really enjoyed the one last year.

I haven't booked yet, but I'll try to make that - really enjoyed last year.

I've just had a look at the PCGB website to find the calendar/booking form, and it's changed - looks like the Porsche site now (and I can't find the booking form download)!

I didn't do anything special with mine - 2-300 road miles, then on track. It was a PCGB day at Goodwood, so short sessions - you might want to get the tyres up to temp, run for 5-10 minutes then come in and cool them down a couple of times before you do any long sessions. This is effectively putting a couple of heat cycles on them before the abuse starts!

Silverstone was my 8th or 9th track day on them, maybe one left in them.

thats great going - were they still road legal as well? i managed about 5 days on my set..[:(]

Sounds like pretty good wear on both accounts...with my driving I should manage at least 10 track days!

Just checked them and they're still legal - at worst there's about 0.5mm down to the wear bars on the inside of the rears, 1mm on the outside. Fronts have about 1.5-2mm.

Worked out I've done 8 trackdays on these and about 1500 road miles:

Goodwood
Castle Combe
Brands GP twice
Brands Indy
Donnington National
Silverstone GP twice - both with Sean Edwards driving as well.

Lasting a lot better than they did on my C2

Based on my own experience, I would stick with 32 all round because of the proven wear. However, in race situations when wear might not be such an issue, you will be faster with a bit less pressure. We found the fastest on 4 lap super sprints was 29 all round. I am not sure they would last long like that!
