TPM accuracy

Noticed on the drive home from the dealer yesterday that the tyre pressures showing on the dash were far too high.
Checked when cold today with a quality guage and they are actually correctly set at 35 psi. However driving this morning with cold tyres the guage is still showing 41/42?
My Macan's guage is spot on with the actual tyre pressure, so very surprised by this inaccuracy.
Anyone else have this?

Do a TPMS reset and let them learn again.

The rear pressures will rise before the fronts due to the over axle pipes warming the rubber quicker. I find 30 PSI is ideal for me as the ride is perfect but if you decide to run at these pressures make sure you have the comfort setting ticked in the tyre pressure settings on the MFD.

I have found the TPMS to be very accurate, so Dan’s idea of resetting the system is a good idea. Its important to note that you shouldn’t use the pressure readout that you get when driving to alter the pressures. You should use the Fill Info readout on the MFD (only available when stationary) as this this info is temperature compensated for difference in ambient temperature. Fill info is also available in My Porsche app. Full details in your manual or the Porsche Good To Know app.

I will disagree strongly with Dan about “Comfort Pressures”. In my experience the use of these ruins the handling and steering precision. I think that they are only for bimbling around town and not going round corners. I guess for the American market.

On the My Porsche app, they are showing at +7 fronts and +8 rears.

I know they are inflated to 35 psi currently and I am happy with the ride quality at this level.

Will have a go at resetting. My Macan TPMS is very accurate, so surprised at this.

Strongly disagree is a bit harsh Graham. I wrote comfort setting is ideal for me. Everyone is different.

As a side note, it's also worth having a 4 wheel alignment done as it isn't great out of the box.

sorry if I was harsh Dan, but I do urge you to try pumping up your tyres to the proper pressures; I think you’ll be amazed at how much sharper and more precise it will feel.
