TPMS issue ?

Peely

New member
Yesterday I had a damaged rear alloy repaired (slightly scuffed edge) that had been bothering me since I purchased the car 2 months ago.

Upon collecting the alloy I realised that I had totally forgot to mention anything about TPMS sensors ! [:(]

I now have a red warning symbol on the rev counter telling me it's flat

Any suggestions guys on how to remidy ?

Is it an expensive trip, and pants down, to the OPC or can I purchase one and fit with local a tyre fitter ?

Ohhhhh I'm sooooo annoyed with myself !!!! [] []

Cheers
Ian

I would have thought that a reputable alloy repair firm would have realised that your wheel had a pressure monitor. Suggest you speak to them for redress.

They may have not removed the sensor, you will have to reset the system if a tyre has been removed. It has to learn a tyre has been fitted. The instructions are in the owners manual, you then go for a drive so it can learn the change. Ha presto fixed ! [:)]

Ah right, I did try the reset thing on the stalk but it still came up with the same message this morning when starting.
But I'll go and have a read and see if I can find another way of doing it if a tyre has been removed.

Cheers !!

Sorted !
Wasn't as bad as I'd feared.
Turns out the alloy repairer had only put about 6psi in the tyre and I'd automatically presumed the worst. [:(]

Thanks Marlin !
