TPMS on 997 GT3

I have received this from one of my regions members.

The TPMS on my 997 GT3 need replacing. I've contacted Autogem who have advised me that as the sensors have been dormant for more than a couple of weeks, the car will need to be plugged into Porsche diagnostic equipment to delete the fault on the dashboard in order that ANY new TPMS can be fitted. Do you or any of our region 14 colleagues know of anywhere that I can get this done- preferably within an easy drive from Carmarthenshire? I'm sure other members must have encountered this.

Hi,

Many thanks for the responses- especially from Martin. In the event, I have been able to resolve the TPMS at Protyre in Haverfordwest. The life of these sensors is in the region of 96 months (my car is 2007) and therefore it was not surprising when 3 of mine went in quick succession, with the forth showing very little battery life. I-sensors have been fitted. Software clones the new sensor with the old. Once connected the dashboard told me I had a flat tyre! Thereafter it "started to learn" and by the time I got home the system was reading properly. The bill was half that of what a Porsche centre would charge.

Hi David,
I'm in Carmarthenshire too and need to replace my TPMS sensors, so am interested in Protyre.
Can you advise what the cost was? Was this to remove and refit the same tyres, or were you having new tyres fitted at the same time, (so removal and refitting already covered)?
