Can anyone advise Keith on getting hold of a steering joint (surely this item is available somewhere?)

I wonder if you can help, or can put me in touch someone who can.
We have had our 924S from new in 1986. Originally it was mine, but later I passed it over to my wife.
Over the 26 years it been remarkably free from trouble, with the drivers door lock as the only part that has had to be replaced.
However, recently, the motor which opens and closes the sun roof has failed and needs replacement. More importantly it has just failed its MoT renewal because it needs a new steering column universal joint.
The garage has been unable to track one down, and asked me to see if the Club could help.

Fingers firmly crossed

Keith

Well with all due respect to the garage Porscheshop have them llisted at £224. I would think a phone call to the OPC and a 10% members discount would bring one in for less. Reading OPC is 0118 9303911 and a phone call would establish if the steering shaft was available from an OPC

Bert Gear = £80 too. From memory Berts and Exeter OPCs prices are similar on this. Avoid Pork Chop!

I think that's the 924 turbo one. Their 944 part is £97 inc vat, and that should be the same as the 924S. Bert lists it at £90 according to his website.
