TQ: Water in drivers footwell

Hello all, can anyone provide an answer to the following question

Hi! I have just been to look at a 924S today. All is well with the car except it has a water leak in it somewhere. The drivers side floor is soaked with water but I cannot see any obvious place for the water to have got in (e.g. sunroof, door). Would you be s kind as to help me understand how big a deal this water leak could be & how difficult it would be to resolve? I would be most grateful.

From personal experience water was able to enter the footwell of my car albeit a 944s from an unsealed grommet hole throught which the supply for a previously fitted sparkrite 2000 alarm passed. Sealing this did the trick. Also check high up on the inner wing where the radio co-ax cable enters. The grommet can perish or indeed be completely missing allowing water to trail in down the ariel lead or blast straight through as you pass through a puddle.

Yep, its likely to be coming from somewhere under the bonnet on the 'shelf' where the battery is, but on the drivers side of course!
If your parking on a slight uphill gradient or the drain hole is blocked then it will hold water, chances are that you have a hole in that area.

I hate to state the obvious but check the rubber drain flaps in the battery well (both sides) as leaves blocking this will give this trouble.
