Tracing my car History

Hi all

This is a long shot but what the hell.

I bought my 1992 Red 964 C4 Cab nearly 2 years ago without any history whats so ever.
I have managed to get all the previous owners information and the numerous registration plates used from the DVLA.

I wrote to all addresses to ask for help, unfortunately and probably due to the fact that people move, I have had only one reply.

With the help of Porsche customers services and plenty of time on the phone I have managed to trace quite a bit of history. However Porsche will not give any major details of the work completed on the car due to legal reasons. (pain in the arse if you ask me).

Anyway here are the previous owners and registrations as maybe some of them still own a Porsche today.
If anyone knows them or the car I would greatly appreciate any info.

It was first registered to Porsche in Reading where it changed registration a number of times:-
J374 UJH changed to A911 FWD on 10/02/1992
A911 FWD changed to J673 LDL on 31/01/1992
before being sold 21/11/1992.
I have contacted these but due to the age there is nothing on their system.

J542 NHD was changed to KEN 467 on 25/08/1994

Again any help is greatly appreciated.

My next stage is to look up names in the phone book and ring around, I may also try Porsche specialist garages etc around the addresses I have from the DVLA. A long process but I am an Inquisitive sod and I want to know everything. Will also help I suppose if I one day decided to part with her.

Thanks again Lee

You should be able to trace AA Clarke, they had a garage in Windsor which when I last went past was being torn down, not sure what they are putting in its place.

This is their website but I thought they were a Ford main dealer, although it rings a bell that they at least used to do leasing.

You should also try Googleing each of the previous owners names, especially the companies, as if the car was the director's car they may still be around and able to fill in some details. I would however, get on the phone first rather than use snail mail as even if the person has left/retired someone may know how they can be contacted.

Good luck in your search

Hi Colin.

Cheers for your advise. i have spoken to AA Clarke, their computer records dont go that far back so all he culd tell me is that it was leased out.
I have now managed to speak to Kenneth Dorman but it was many years ago since he had the car so the information i got from him was quite limited.
The main one I would like to contact is Rajni Bala. Tried a contact number for her from the DVLA forms. It is now a joinery shop. Tried google, even tried the phone book for the area she lived whilst owning the car. No luck.
I have also rung every Porsche dealer in the country to see if its been in for work.

I am now stuck and dont really know what to do next.
