Just done a couple of track day (evenings) on Silverstone GP circuit. One in the (extremely) wet and one in the dry. WOW I love my car!! So impressed with the handling and stability even with standing water on the circuit. In the dry it was just amazing. Totally mullered my rear tyres but they needed replacing anyway. She was so forgiving with gentle understeer on the limit followed by a warning oversteer wiggle if I pushed too hard (TC sorted me out once through Vale). Temperature never moved, brakes never complained or faded.
Bless her, she ran 80 miles down there. Suffered 100 track miles of 2 totally incompetent drivers, then purred home as if nothing had happened. I've had the 996 about 6 years now, she's done nearly 100K miles and I LOVE her all over again.
Only problem is track driving does take its toll on the car so thats probably it for this year.
Now she deserves a special clean and polish
Regards
Neil
