Track Days and experience days

Thought I'd start a thread to ask if anyone has booked any track days or experience days this coming year.
I did my first Porsche club track-day last September in my 996 Cab as the 944 had a small oil leak a the time, There was only 1 944 car there and it was a track car, was lovely watching an old school no driver aids car drive around.
I've just booked Castle Combe for 6th May and intend to use the 944. I've also got a nice Christmas gift to use at Thruxton for a skid pan session if anyone wants to join in.
Anyone else planning or booked any sessions with their 944?
I've been looking into the Porsche experience centre and specifically using your own car. Would be great to organise a 944 or perhaps transaxle day there if there was enough interest...

Transaxle day at PEC would be a great idea. Just don’t let the Panamera lot sneak in under a technicality [;)]

I just booked Thruxton for March. I didn't spot the really, really low noise limit. My car is 8dbs too loud........may be cheaper to cancel than buy a new rear exhaust section....

Yeah, I've never measured my exhaust volume, maybe I should stick my phone by the exhaust while I rev the hell out of it.

Yes, I'd be up for a transaxle day at PEC Silverstone. What a brilliant idea. I know a few who'd sign up. I think a few of the instructors there have owned 944s.

I can’t remember the exact numbers but it’s something like a 45 degree angle, 1 metre away at 2/3rds revs.

So anyone that's done a PEC event, the standard format seems to be 90mins car time, depending on the event there is other stuff around that, i.e. classroom work, presentations etc. Tell us your experience and advice. eg book a 'drive your own car session' and 'another experience' to make a day of it, or just the one session is enough?
Apparently you can book a 911 experience and use as much of the 90mins as you like either in your own car or theirs...

Out of interest what have you booked at Thruxton? Didn't think they did 'track days'? Have you thought about a 'decibel slayer' from demon tweeks to quieten your back end down a bit!

Trackday? Strangely doesnt seem to be an issue on the skidpan.

Yep, Javelin track day. 90db limit. My car is currently 98db and has been tested at a few hill climbs. Spoke to Merlin and said forget the Jetex versions, they will only drop by 1-2db. Their Merlin version will drop by 2-5db. So still a risk to buy and fail on the day. Looks like I will cancel for £20 loss versus £159 if the car fails.

Just looked a Javelin, looks like a good selection and good value. What's your experience of them so far? I've only done PCGB track day in my own car so far and felt safe and comfortable regards etiquette, i.e. everyone played nice and left plenty of space into/out of corners, never felt pushed or shoved and never felt like anyone was going to hit my pride and joy! And there was a wide range of drivers in terms of pace/skill and performance of cars.
I really liked the tuition to get a feel for the track and corners too...
