Track days and PSE

Anyone know what their Db level is for a 997 Carrera S with Porsche Sports Exhaust?

I am trying to work out what track day I can go to before I trade in my Carrera for the Turbo.

Also as a track day rookie I can't decide between Goodwood and Castle Combe in Nov - any suggestions?

Alex,
I had a C2S with PSE before the TT and have driven both circuits you mention. I found to pass the static noise test I had to leave the PSE in quiet mode which was frustrating because it meant you could not use the SPORT setting. My C2S with PSE in loud mode was measured at 106db which is too high for both circuits. I suggest that you pass the static noise test with PSE off and then when out their on the circuit you accidently press the SPORT button or if you prefer you can always just engage the stiffer PASM setting but then you still dont get the improved throttle response that SPORT gives you. If you go to Castle Coombe make sure you go to a loud day which has a 105db limit otherwise it is 100. Limit at Goodwood is 105db. Both circuits will black flag you if you are making too much noise with Coombe the more agrressive of the two. At Goodwood they may just ask you to short shift.

They are both fun circuits and worth doing with Goodwood perhaps a little easier to learn. Goodwood is fast but Coombe isnt exactly slow. I could get to 135+ in the CS2 on the Lavant straight at Goodwood without pushing the car too hard. If its your first time take it easy and use the instructors the club provides on the day. Best £20 you will ever spend. Last time out in the TT I had an EX F1 driver alongside me who was a brilliant instructor and he got me going at speeds I didnt thing were possible for me. In the wet I was killing everything and in the dry only the best kept up. Shame I cant carry him around with me

Excellent info thanks Bob!!

Would be really annoyed if I couldn't use Sport mode on a track though.
