Track Days

I've made an important decision in the last 2 days[:)]. I'm going to keep my C2S for another year. On that basis, I'm going to do a track day, maybe two.

Does anyone know if any of the club track days offer any tuition? Also, any recommendations for single day track use insurance?

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi

Good decision [:)]

I think all the club trackdays have instructors available - I've had tuition at the ones that I have been to

Best idea is to try to get the session as early as possible, to allow you to practice afterwards

Not sure about individual track day insurance - my insurance covers me for PCGB trackdays (with an increased excess)

Talk to your insurance company first, some of them offer free insurance fro PCGB track days if you are a PCGB member

failing that checkt he PCGB web site, that has some links

Julio,

Porsche insurance services gives you 2 free track days as well as Porsche courtesy car insurance for when you leave your car for a service and try out something else you might fancy! I wasn't insured with them last year when I wanted to go round Knockhill and tried everywhere to get the cover but nobody was interested in track day insurance. Come my renewal date, I took insurance through Porsche which strangely enough was cheaper than anyone else and I got the added perks!

Performance Marque cover you for all Porsche club GB track days, excess at 10% of the value of the car as the majority are.

A Manning insures mine and includes track day cover for 'approved' events. The excess is increased by (if I remember) by £750.

Wow, so you could have an excess of £10k if you bin it ?!!

Makes you act a bit more sensibly when your out there though - so probably a good thing

When I was sorting out my insurance recently Porsche's own cover came out well priced but you're limited to 2 track days only (you can't increase these) and with a 10% excess. A Manning's Allianz Cornhill insurance (at £200 more) gave an unlimited number of track days at an additional £750 excess. Track days covered include PCGB Track days and any run by organisers who are members of the Assoc of Track Day Organizers or the Federation of Automoto Event Organizers.
