Track Insurance

Ok I have got the track bug.
How much should I expect to pay per track day in terms of insurance?

One company has given me a quote of £249 for the first day and then a discount on any further days booked.
Does that sound reasonable?
My only doubt is the maximum they will insure for is £30k which is rather worrying.

Can anyone recommend companies they use / have used in the past.

Thanks in advance.
See you on the track.

Academy insurance (Norwich union) quoted me £150 per track day with a 10% excess.
They won't cover overseas track days though.

I know that it is not muich use at present but when it comes to renewal you will find that some of the companies mentioned on the PCGB site will cover track days organised by PCGB inmclusive - provided that you have had training or experience.

Thanks Richard.
Thats my problem, at the moment i am quite a few months off renewal.
I'm also looking at doing a lot of track days not organised by PCGB too.
Thanks for the heads up though, I'll give them a call when the time comes.

A Manning cover all trackdays organised by companies who are members of the 2 main trackday associations, (including PCGB!)

Thanks Mark.
Do you know who the 2 main track day associations are?
Is ATDO 1?
I am looking at doing a lot of the Motor Sport Vision days (http://www.motorsportvision.co.uk) so it would be good to know if they members of either of the associations.
