Track Suspension

Hi all,

Got a Boxster 2.7, 987, 2005, looking to upgrade from standard suspensions to something a bit more suited for track days. Don't mind hard is going to be, because only going to use it for just track days.

Can someone please advice?

Through about having the PASM fitted by the local dealer.
Is the PASM as good as suspension which design for racing?

Many thanks

I think you'll find there is a bit too much to installing PASM.... Like a new loom for instance - and these can only be ordered against chassis numbers, and as yours doesn't have PASM.... (you get the picture?)

You could try the "S" sport suspension components, but if you are solely interested in track use then you might want to talk to some of the racers and see what they do. If you pop along to the next rounds of the club championships I'm sure the Boxster drivers would give you a pointer.

The fixed sports suspension is better than PASM for track use, and obviously substantially easier.

Hope you've got a warranty if you're using it for track only.

thanks for the quick reply. Glad to hear that a fix sports suspension is better than PASM. :D

Any reommendation on suspension would be great.

many thanks

For racing I've got Bilstein PSS9 on mine, with the M030 anti-roll bar. It's fully adjustable so after the track day you can just ease the rates down to make your drive home less of a pain in the backside. In my opinion, it's a great set up.
Cheers,
Marcus

The hot suspension to have these days seems to be KW. It has a bypass valve in the dampers which means they soak up the bumps on the road but are stiff on the track. Ideal i'd have thought for a convertable. I'd image a Boxster wouldn't be very nice to drive on the road with stiffened and lowered passive suspension without the extra rigidity the roof provides. There are quite a few 944's with it fitted now (mine is going in during April for it) and it gets rave reviews.
