Hi All,

May be of interest to some:

With summer just around the corner we would like to offer our members the opportunity to participate in our open pit lane, low numbers (and therefore ideal for novices) evening events in May and June:

Wed 2 May Brands Hatch Indy 105dB £119
Mon 14 May Donington Park National 98dB £129
Wed 16 May Cadwell Park 105dB £109
Tue 29 May Bedford GT 101dB £119
Thu 7 June Snetterton 106dB £109

Furthermore we are offering any 3 events for £250 or all 5 for £400, saving £185!

Please call the booking office on 01302 743827 to book.

Kind regards
The Circuit Days Team

Thanks for the heads up Andrew. I was really tempted by the package price until I saw how close the dates are together. Knowing my luck there's just too high a risk of having a failure of some variety and then missing out on the following one or two till it's sorted.
Best regards,
Peter

June 7th at Snett could be a go'er (and it is 106db for loudboy Koeberle [;)])

I could even be tempted to take off my quieter 90 degree filter and stick the noisy jet tube back on [:-]

I'd love to do Brands Hatch Indy but it is too soon.

Snetterton could be on though. Seems rude not to take up the 3 for £250 - but I only want to do two of them [;)]

[:)] I only read the £400 deal earlier, missed the cheaper option somehow which is far more practical and tempting [:D]
I'm a bit bored of Bedford GT, so it would definately be Snetterton, but will struggle to choose between the rest.
I've never been to Cadwell, isn't that the really narrow track?
Best regards,
Peter

Cadwelll is very narrow - particularly compared with Donington & Silverstone

It's a fair old trek for you for just an evening I would have thought - takes me 2 hours from Derby

It's a great circuit for trackdays though - lots of elevation changes & great corners. The Gooseneck is worth making the trip for [:D]

You can pick up some fairly cheap Cadwell days with Javelin

Never done that before and I am tempted on ...
Wed 2 May Brands Hatch Indy 105dB £119
Tue 29 May Bedford GT 101dB £119
Thu 7 June Snetterton 106dB £109

My current insurance policy doesn't cover track days, can I get seperate covers or just switch insurer (but which one?). Also, what helmet should I get (open face, closed face, make and model etc)?

Some specialist insurers will include for track day cover and Beaky may be changing to such next renewal.

At the recent Donington day I got full cover from MORRIS for around £100 for the day - which I though was very reasonable. I also get a no claims bonus on subsequent bookings. They do ask for a list of previous track experience so, having filled the box completely, they might have considered me a low risk.

It is starting to look like Snetterton could be an official outing then?

.....Also, what helmet should I get (open face, closed face, make and model etc)?

Helmet choice is a very personal thing and you need to try on a helmet before you buy.

My preference is for closed face as it provides greater protection. Track days don't require FIA, RAC MSA approved car helmets but, considering you are talking about something that might save your life, that would be my recommendation.

I hope to be able to do the Bedford evening (although the wife thinks I am taking her to Marrakech that week [:-])

re insurance, I am with www.hertsinsurance.com . Their classic policy covers trackdays, so long as organised by a recognised body. They are also modification-friendly.

Hi All,

I'm on for Snetterton too! I'll be there.

Regards,
Andrew
