Trackday Hockenheim GP Circuit

Just back from a trackday on Hockenheim GP Circuit. Open pitlane, not too many cars, no noise restrictions. Very good.

Very impressive when you´re in 964 Cup and a 2012 GT 3 Corvette passes at full chat.

Also 2012 Carrera Cup cars on track, so a Cup car from the very first year (1990) and Cup cars from 2012 on track at the same time.

The old Cup car did about 350 km on track today, looks like retirement is postponed.

Sounds Epic, I know which car I would prefer to do a lap !

Of course I was the last man standing, gun still smoking!

Seriously, the rear view mirror is important on a day like that. There were some Formula cars also, hard to spot in the mirror.

How many GT3s did you shoot down, Ace?

Excellent! Can we come next time?

I can let you know the days, as soon as I know them. It may well be another time this year, if the weather is still as it is now.
Usually I get the information a few weeks before it happens, sometimes only days. Then I´ll be able to ask for more cars to be part of it.

It´s testing for race teams, so no dicussions about insurance coverage (know you won´t discuss, Mel), please.

None, teams book for the cars. Track experience and being aware of the speed difference - a GT 3 comes up really quick- is all you need.
So, for you no problem. You get approx. 6 hrs net track time.

Next year then!

Would love to drive Hockenheim -I'm sure 'Cuppie' knows it well......[:)]

If Cuppie tries to go the old way, she´ll end up in the woods! The new GP circuit uses the old stadium section, but no longer the endless treelined straights. After turn 1 you pick up speed and the new turn 2 (sharp righthander) leads into the new part - fun to drive that course!

'Sounds like a great day ...

Retirement ? What would that be :)

Some dogs may be faster, but who's gonna stop the old dog shaking a leg ?
