Could you please advise which is the most track focused but still road legal tyre I can use with my 968CS.
Also please let me know which is the "offical" tyre for Porsche championships if there is any

Thank you very much in advance.

Thank you for all the help.

is there any direct info from the manufacturers of the tyres available on the internet with regards to tyre presurres / temperatures

Control tyre in the Club Championship is the Michelin Pilot Cup Sport........and it is road legal. Michelin have also issued a special bulletin giving advice that for MOT purposes the tread depth limit only related to the grooves in the main centre section of the tyre, it does not apply to the outside ende of the tyre which has special, limited depth cuts.

937carrera.

Where did Michelin post that info.?? Do you have a link to it.??
Ide like to read the article...

I think it was published either in Porsche Post, or as part of a bulletin isuued as part of the Championship communications.

I can't find mine at the moment, but Steve Kevlin should be able to point you in the right direction.

A set of Dunlop Super Sport Race are available from Mr Tyre Motorsport for #480 including VAT. I have them on my 968CS and can recommend them as fantastic value for money. They don't have as much ultimate grip as the Michelin Cups or P Zeros but they are almost half the price. I run mine at 32/33 psi hot for front and rears.

I run Michelin Pilot Sports on my re-indexed 968 Coupe with KW Suspension and M030 ARBs.
No complaints on road or track. [:)]
